I used 0.71mm …
I used 0.71mm galvanised garden wire for both the main body and the barbs. You can get a role of this in any garden centre for not much at all and it will last you forever

well i have about 5 …
well i have about 5 extra guitar strings that i could use for barbed wire. some strings are actually well priced and u can get 6 in a pack.

yeah it seems too big, but… dont use guitar strings, it will cost you a lot.
