    Yeah, you’re right. That solid wire is going up the pole to a security light. I didn’t wire it up that way, but it’s been there since 1987. Since I don’t have a copy of the NEC, I don’t know what 334 is refering to. All the wiring in the shop is properly sized for the load it’s carrying. I put the breaker panel in about 10 years ago after lightning ran in and burnt up some wires and destroyed the disconnect style box that was in there.

    Why is there a #12 or 14 solid wire tapped into the new breaker you just installed? It is a NEC violation and unsafe wiring. Yeah, I am an inspector. Also check 334 of the NEC for the NM cable you have installed in the barn. Another violation. I commend you for going and getting the correct size breaker but there is a difference between getting something to work and installing it safely and code compliant.

    next time put the breaker in first then connect the conductors instead of fighting to get it in ;-) work smarter not harder
